Project Engineering and Management
The
nature of our business means that great attention to detail is required at the
initial project stage of an enquiry from a potential client. We have
specialist highly qualified engineers and project team leaders with many years
service within the company in Doncaster. These people are well respected and
hold an enviable reputation of long standing within the mechanical and mineral
processing community both in the United Kingdom and overseas.

It
is our policy wherever possible that the Project Manager who oversees the
preparation of a tender will conduct the contracts which arise from it thus
giving our clients continuity of contact from inception to completion. It
is a policy we believe essential in the production of today's multi faceted and
complex plants.
Project
Management is under the direct control of the Managing Director operating under
mandate from the Board of Directors. Project teams will, on the successful
conversion of a project into a contract, become the contract engineering team in
order to maintain the customer contact built up during the project period.
Computer
Resources

Computer design services are constantly
being expanded and developed to suit our technical and commercial needs.
Our
computer systems are based upon BSI engineering formula coupled with the tried
and tested improvements created over the company’s many years’ experience.
Procurement
Procurement
is controlled by our internal purchasing policy and the project manager.
Installation and Commissioning
Our
Installation Department contains a nucleus of site engineers capable of
overseeing the construction of contracts undertaken by Don Valley, and
commissioning of the completed plant. We also retain key site personnel in
the form of foreman, chargehand, welders, fitters and erectors to ensure that
the core
of the site team are all full time Don Valley employees.
Plant Facilities at Wharf Road Works
Don
Valley is located on a single site at our Wharf Road works. The site contains
our office facilities together with our fitting and assembly buildings and a
considerable amount of covered storage for the housing of our extensive spare
parts holding and contract items requiring storage prior to delivery to site.
In
general the nature of our design and build contracts dictate that the bulk of
fabricated steelwork is prepared and delivered directly to site for installation
after firstly being inspected for accuracy and quality.
Where
items require to be pre-assembled prior to delivery to site they are received
into our works, inspected, assembled and tested before delivery.
Our
own machines are also inspected, assembled and tested within our works before
delivery using our own extensive assembly and testing facilities designed to
test individual items before assembly and whole machines prior to despatch.
